Privacy Policy
The Surfboard app and optional website forms follow different data paths. The app collects no reading data. The updates and support forms collect only what you choose to submit for those specific purposes.

App data collection
Surfboard does not collect personal information or reading data from use of the app. It does not require an account or create a server-side reading profile.
Local app storage
Sources, topics, and reading state are stored locally on each device. Surfboard does not sync that information or keep a cloud copy.
External sources and links
To refresh a source, Surfboard connects directly to the source URL you chose. Opening an article or searching a named entity sends an ordinary request to that website, browser, or default search engine, which handles the request under its own privacy policy.
Advertising and analytics
Surfboard contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. It does not use reading activity to target ads, rank stories, or build an engagement profile.
Website measurement
This website does not use analytics cookies, ad pixels, session replay, or persistent visitor identifiers. App Store links may include Apple campaign parameters. Apple may report aggregate product-page views and downloads in App Store Connect; Surfboard does not receive a website browsing profile from those reports.
Updates and beta forms
The optional website forms collect the name and email you enter, the time you consented, and whether you asked for occasional updates or TestFlight availability notices. Beta email signup includes consent to receive availability notices and occasional product information, offers, and discounts. It does not reserve or guarantee a TestFlight place; Apple controls current beta capacity and device or OS eligibility.
Contact storage
If you opt in, Surfboard stores your contact details, consent record, and email interests in its private subscriber database and a restricted Twenty contact-management workspace. These records are used to manage the emails you requested. Your reading data is never included.
Support form
The support form is hosted by Google Forms. Surfboard uses the information you submit only to understand and respond to your request; Google's handling of the form is also governed by Google's privacy terms.
Retention and choices
You can unsubscribe from marketing messages or use the Support page to request access, correction, or deletion of update-contact information. Unsubscribing stops marketing use; limited suppression information may be retained to keep the address opted out. App data remains on the device. Sources and topics can be removed in the app; deleting the app removes its local database, subject to device backups.
Policy updates
Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Because Surfboard does not collect contact information from app use, app-only users cannot be notified directly.
